2026 Technology Enhancement Millage Renewal
Technology Enhancement Millage
On May 5, the Monroe County Intermediate School District (MCISD) is asking voters to renew the Monroe County Technology Enhancement Millage, a countywide levy that helps provide students with the most up-to-date technology. Since 1997, the millage has benefited students from the nine county public school districts, including Airport Community Schools, as well as the MCISD and two Monroe County charter schools.
The proposal seeks to renew a .9866 mill levy for five years, from 2027 to 2031. If approved, the revenue would be distributed back to county school districts based on student population.
For Airport students, the Technology Enhancement Millage supports daily instructional needs for a technological world. The funds allow the district to provide a Chromebook to all students, ensuring every child has the digital tools necessary to complete assignments, conduct research, and access interactive learning resources both in and out of the classroom.
